Free garden tour at 10 am on Friday was great and took 50 minutes. They liked exotic plants from around the world so we saw things that I have never seen before.

11 am the visitors center opened and we got on the first tour. $7 per person, cash only. Amazing house with Kevin as a great guide. So many different tile styles throughout the house and gardens. No pictures allowed in the house.

Check tour dates and times carefully before going. $7 per person for docent tour inside. Tours on the hour, first come. Grounds always open. Beautiful home with lots of history. Small museum and gift shop, limited hours. Run by CA State Parks and volunteers. Best view in all of Malibu! Have lunch after on Malibu Pier and complete a perfect day!

Beautiful grounds right by the beach, you can feel and smell the salty air. Perfect picture opportunities everywhere.
Some of the signs around the grounds talk about the Chumash people that once lived here. It is sad to learn they were unfairly driven out of this beautiful place and their homes.

Stunning, carefully preserved home containing exceptional tile work throughout. The patios and fountains also have gorgeous tile work. The docent was knowledgeable and witty and the history she shared with us was fascinating. A must-see.

The Adamson House is an historic first house of what is now Malibu, before the development of coastal Los Angeles County.
The original owners, known as the Rindge’s, had the home built in 1928. They operated a tile making business nearby that helped adorn this house, as well as many other homes and businesses around the Los Angeles area, with beautiful ornate tile!
The Adamson family lived here for several years, keeping the structure with its now famous tile intact!
The house and grounds are now operated as a California State Historic Park Property. As such, accessible paid parking may be found at the beach lot, just to the left of the entrance, or Pacific Coast Highway beside it. Further parking options are across Malibu Creek at the shopping centers or the Malibu Lagoon State Beach paid parking lot.
The house tour takes about an hour, during which we are walked back in time, just as the home was originally! We were asked to put our phones and cameras away while inside the house, tho ok for photo’s taken from the outside.
I enjoyed seeing the tile features that are amazingly like new! There’s even a tile lined dog tub in an outside corner of the house!
The ocean view from the Adamson House was awesome! I could see surfers riding the waves from much of the south side of the house.
Restrooms are located in an outhouse inside the property, to the right of the main entrance.

Attended a beautiful wedding at this venue. It is a perfect setting. A tour of the museum is interesting with excellent guides.

This Malibu gem is a must see! It's the best $7 you'll ever spend in Malibu! The docent-led tours of inside the house run on the hour (I went on the 1 pm tour) and are absolutely fascinating. The house inside is so beautiful, you can tell it was a labor of love for the Adamsons. Unfortunately, they only allow pictures of the outside of the house, but there are many stunning photos you can take from the outside. You'll also learn interesting local history. I'm so glad the house was preserved, after nearly being bulldozed to make way for a parking lot!
